Welcome to Yamamori Izakaya & Sake Bar

Much like Ireland has its “Pubs” Japan has its “Izakayas”,
a type of Japanese bar in which a variety of small dishes and sushi are served to accompany the alcoholic
drinks ranging from Beer to Sake, both of which we source directly from Japan.Originally this space was one of the famous Bewley’s Cafes established in 1840. The victorian interior and original fittings can still be seen throughout the ground floor with authentic Japanese artwork and sculptures on display, sourced by the restaurant’s owners in Japan.

Newly launched Yamamori Izakaya & Sake Bar is located on South Great Georges Street Dublin and serves a dedicated Sake menu and late night izakaya snackss untill 2am every weekend.

The main dining area features a bespoke sushi stage, where our chefs prepare Sushi, precisely balancing texture, temperature, and flavour for all to see. Earning ourselves a dedicated following of both Japanese and Irish regulars daily.

The Izakaya Basement is a more intimate setting with its dedicated bar, low ceilings, japanese stencil art work and old movies projected as a backdrop behind our DJ booth. It provides a warm and intimate space for both large dining groups, or cosy couples who can still avail of the full menu, stay a little longer and experience the Izakaya after dark, 7 nights a week.

Review

Blown away by the food here at Yamamori Izakaya, tried the rainbow roll with black rice and it was nothing short of magical! The whiskey sours washed it down pretty well also! Loved the venue, it’s like being transported to Tokyo! In the basement they have funky disco later on the the night! Ten points to my waiter who was extremely patient yet charming! Will definitely come back!

Waky has been part of our family for almost 7 years! Born in Osaka, Japan, she has been living in Dublin for 7 years. She loves Dublin for its size - not too big, not too small - and with loads to do! She loves the laid back, easy-going nature of the people here. Also, there are no earthquakes or typhoons here, so that’s a plus!
