Yamamori Joins the Zero-To-Landfill Initiative: A Big Win for Sustainability

We’re so chuffed to be part of the Zero-To-Landfill initiative and couldn’t be more proud of ourselves.

Sustainability is at our core, and this journey has been both tough and awesome. Seeing the results of our efforts just makes us more committed to making a real difference in the food industry.

We started this project last year and have been fortunate to have great support from Amy Irwin, a food safety advisor specializing in zero-waste advisory and Zero-To-Landfill. Her expertise has been invaluable in guiding us through this initiative.

Our Waste Reduction Journey

At Yamamori, we took a holistic approach to waste reduction:

  • Waste auditing to see what goes in each bin.

  • Waste stream optimisation by reducing waste and refining recycling.

  • Bin optimisation to ensure proper waste management.

  • Educating our team to develop good habits.

Every step has been a team effort, and it’s amazing how small changes can add up to big results. This isn’t just about waste reduction – it’s about creating a culture of accountability and sustainability in the food industry.

Thanks to Our Team

None of this would be possible without the entire Yamamori team across all three locations. Your hard work and commitment to sustainable practices have made this initiative successful. Thanks for being part of this journey and striving to make a difference!

We remain committed to pushing forward with sustainable practices and making an even greater impact. The Zero-To-Landfill movement is growing, and we’re proud to be among the food businesses in Ireland leading the way. 🌿

Together, we’re reducing waste and building a more sustainable and responsible food community in Ireland. 🙌

About Amy Irwin

Amy Irwin has been an invaluable support in Yamamori’s journey towards sustainability. With over 10 years of experience as an Environmental Health Officer (EHO), Amy has worked with a wide range of food businesses, bringing expert guidance in food safety, zero waste practices, and sustainability initiatives.

Now working as a consultant, Amy’s mission is to remove the fear from inspections, build confidence in food safety, and help businesses take bold steps toward waste reduction. Her expertise has played a key role in shaping our Zero-To-Landfill initiative, ensuring that we’re not only meeting industry standards but also pushing boundaries in sustainable food practices.

As Amy puts it:
"I started out as an inspector, and now I’m here to support and encourage my clients. If you want to ‘run a kitchen without a bin,’ we need to talk!"

Yamamori Continue to challenge ourselves with Zero-To-Landfill
